The group Ilza took its name from a river that runs through Cibla, a little town near Ludza, which is located in Latgale. Latgale s culture differs from the rest of Latvia as it historically has been a Catholic dominated region and till nowadays has preserved a particular dialect and a rich heritage: songs, dances and traditions.
This album includes 20 songs and dances sung in Latgalian, as well as a video called Sunset in Latgale, directed by Mathis Menneking
