SECURITY AND PRIVACY |
It is very important to us that you feel confident about the security of the purchases
you make at BalticShop.com Since you gain confidence through knowledge, we've
taken the time to answer some common but very important questions about Internet
security.
|
Secure Internet Transactions |
To protect your privacy, BalticShop.com has incorporated industry-standard secure
server software (Secure Socket Layers) into sensitive sections of the store. RSA is a
well known brand name for cryptography and has more than 300 million copies of its
encryption and authentication technologies installed and in use worldwide. RSA's
encryption technology is embedded in many major software packages, including the
BalticShop.com server software. BalticShop.com transactions are secured by
encrypting all of your personal information - credit card number, name, and address -
while validating the transaction. We use RSA encryption technology to scramble your
data so effectively that it would be virtually impossible to break into it.

How To Be Sure Balticshop Purchases Are Secure |
There are two ways to make sure you're browsing secure pages. Both Internet
Explorer and Netscape Navigator indicate secure modes with a symbol - the image of
a closed padlock. You'll know the information is protected if the closed-lock symbol
pops into view in the lower right- or left-hand corner of your screen while you are
checking out. You can also verify secure pages by checking the address, or URL,
listed on the location bar. If you spot an "s" after the "http" at the beginning of the
address, you know that you're browsing in a secure environment.
|
Our Privacy Policy |
We respect the privacy of our customers. We do not sell, rent or share any of our
client information to any other party. Your postal address, telephone number and
email address will not be sold or made available to other companies.
All of the customer data BalticShop.com requests is kept secure and confidential and
is protected against unauthorized access. In the unlikely event you feel your credit
card information could fall into the wrong hands, the US Federal Law limits your liability (applies to United
States residents). Under the
Fair Credit Billing Act of 1975 (US), you can dispute the charges on your account with your
credit card company and temporarily withhold payment while they investigate the
situation. Even if your creditor disagrees that unauthorized purchases were made,
you're generally only liable for the first $50 in fraudulent charges.
