Andrulis Farmers Cheese

In the 1930's grandma Andrulis, who emigrated from Lithuania to Michigan, started to make farmer's cheese
in her kitchen. At this time, Lithuanian priests out of Chicago, who were vacationing in the area,
started to order the farmer's cheese. As the priests returned to Chicago, word got out about Andrulis
cheese and more requests started to come in. Soon the operation moved into the basement and eventually
the orders became so great that the factory, which presently exists, was built. The Andrulis family still
owns and operates the company.

Farmers Cheese is a full-bodied fresh cheese that can be sliced or used in a variety of recipes. Only
all-natural, premium ingredients are used. Often
the cheese is used in making such items as cheese dumplings, as a rich cheese crumbled on salads, as a
breakfast food in eggs, omelets, or cheese crepes and blintzes. The cheese is wonderful on gourmet
sandwiches, pizza and pasta dishes. As for dessert: cheesecake, cheese strudel, rich cheesy muffins and
cupcakes.
