- Dovid Katz, a native of New York City, led Yiddish Studies at Oxford University for eighteen years. After a stint at Yale, he moved to Vilnius University where he is professor of Yiddish language, literature and culture and director of research at the Vilnius Yiddish Institute. He divides his year between Lithuania and North Wales.
