- Conditions for the unarmed anti-Soviet resistance in Lithuania appeared in the early 1950s. With the weakening of the almost ten-year-long partisan fight for freedom (1944–1953) came the realisation that it was necessary to look for new forms of resistance. The peaceful resistance, in which many young people took part, became the right form.
