- The three Baltic States: Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, similar in terms of their size, national song festivals and a shared historical period of Soviet occupation, are in fact quite different and distinct countries. Although the coasts of all three are washed by the same cold and splashing waters of the Baltic Sea, the landscapes as well as architecture, traditions, cultural heritage and religions differ significantly between these countries. Each of them needs to be explored individually, although the taste of discovery often depends on the hunger as well as on the knowledge and willingness of the explorer. What western countries have lost a long time ago, still exists here, and what has become mundane there, is still undiscovered here. The Baltic States offer so many unique places that it would be a sin not to see them, and once you are here, you are attempted to take at least a little piece of them back home: in souvenirs, in photos or in your heart...
