- The Sutaras Lithuanian folk music band is an independent, professional instrumental folk group in Lithuania and had its first performance on 30 December 1988. The musicians came from the Lithuania Folklore Theatre. The repertoire comprises Lithuanian music of various periods, and is performed on authentic instruments or exact copies. The musicians have mastered perfectly the oldest shepherds' instruments: birbyne, siaudo birbyne, daudyte, ragai, skuduciai, lamzdeliai, svilpos, ozragiai, dudmaisis, various kinds of kankles, and later ones such as the concertina, bandoneon, tuba, violin, clarinet, drums, etc, used in most European countries. It is worth mentioning that music from all regions of Lithuanian is played with instruments peculiar to that region. Besides music, audience may hear a lot of songs and stries, and the musicians dance and play folk games.
