- “In these 85 songs, the well-known composer Juozas Bertulis (1893-1967) reflects his love for his homeland. Written over a span of some 60 years, the most tortuous periods of the 20th century, young and old sing about life in Lithuania - the distant or recent past (“Tau, brangi tevyne”), about nature (“Azuolelis, zaliukelis”), about daily activities in home (“O, atsimenu nameli”), school (“I mokykla”), field (“As pasejau kanapele”) or forest (“Grybai”), and more. Bertulis used verses of many classic poets (Bernardas Brazdzionis, Jonas Minelga, etc.). Woodcuts by renowned graphic artist Algimantas Svazas illustrate the book.
